Geekbuying is an international Chinese e-shop that has been operating since 2012, specializing mainly in electronics, smart home products, electric scooters, e-bikes, robot vacuums, mini computers, monitors, 3D printers and laser engravers. Unlike AliExpress, it does not primarily operate as an open marketplace with thousands of independent sellers, but rather as a classic online store with its own catalog, warehouses and customer support. The platform is run by Hong Kong Geekbuying Information Technology Limited.

It is not a second AliExpress

Geekbuying differs from classic Chinese marketplaces through its simpler structure. You order a product directly from a single store, handle any claim with its support team and do not have to research the history of dozens of different sellers. The range is considerably smaller than on AliExpress, but it focuses more on tech products and brands that already have an established presence in Europe.

In 2026, the main categories include e-bikes, electric scooters, robot vacuums, stick vacuums, projectors, portable power stations, 3D printers, laser engravers, laptops, mini PCs, monitors and smart home products. Geekbuying states on its website that it has more than five million customers and over a thousand represented brands, though these figures come directly from the retailer.

The EU warehouses are Geekbuying's biggest advantage

For customers in the EU, the most interesting products are those marked as EU Stock, PL Warehouse, DE Warehouse or CZ Warehouse. Geekbuying also lists local warehouses in Poland, Germany, Spain and Italy. When shipping from within the European Union, you do not deal with import VAT, customs clearance or the new import fee. The order also travels a much shorter distance than from China.

The official shipping guide lists processing of roughly 1 to 2 business days for the European warehouses, followed by delivery usually within 2 to 7 business days. The actual time depends on the specific warehouse, courier, product availability and destination address. Some items from the Polish warehouse can reach you within just a few days.

Buying from the Chinese warehouse in 2026

Geekbuying still also offers products from China and Hong Kong. According to the store, Priority Line has an estimated delivery time of roughly 10 to 20 business days, express shipping 7 to 18 days, and ordinary airmail can take considerably longer. Add to that the order processing time, which commonly takes 2 to 7 business days for the Chinese warehouse.

For shipments up to €150, Geekbuying can under certain conditions use the IOSS system and collect VAT during checkout. From 1 July 2026, however, the EU introduced a temporary customs fee of €3 per item in low-value shipments imported from outside the EU. So when ordering from the Chinese warehouse, check before paying whether taxes and fees are included in the final price. The import fee does not apply to the EU warehouses.

How do coupons and G-coins work?

The discount code is entered directly in the shopping cart. The biggest discounts are often tied to a specific product, brand or minimum order value. When comparing prices, do not just look at the percentage advertised in the campaign. What matters is the final amount after the coupon, shipping, taxes and any shipping insurance.

Geekbuying also has a G-coin loyalty system. You earn points by registering, shopping, using the app, subscribing to emails or adding a product review. They can only be spent on marked products, and the final allowed amount is shown only in the cart. The standard maximum deduction is 20 USD under the rules, and G-coins cannot be used on shipping, taxes or insurance. Points earned through purchases generally expire at the end of the following calendar year.

Pay via PayPal, card or mobile wallet

Geekbuying supports PayPal and Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and JCB cards. Google Pay or Apple Pay may also appear in the cart. For a more expensive order, we consider PayPal or a credit card the most practical choice, because they add an extra route for resolving a payment dispute on top of the store's internal claims process.

With PayPal, check the delivery address before confirming the payment, since Geekbuying warns that it ships orders to the address listed in the PayPal account. If the name, country or address do not match, the store may request additional order verification.

Customer support responds via ticket and chat

You can contact customer support via ticket, email, online chat or phone. The store states it answers tickets within 24 hours outside holidays. There is a global line plus dedicated phone contacts for German-, French- and Hungarian-speaking customers. Support in most other languages is not available yet, so communication happens mainly in English.

For a technical problem, we recommend immediately sending the order number, the product SKU, photos, a short video and an exact description of the fault. Keep the communication in the ticket so the whole history stays on record. For large attachments, it is more practical to upload them to the cloud and send support a link.

Claims, returns and warranty

A product that is dead on arrival must be reported to support within 7 days at the latest. For damaged packaging, Geekbuying asks for photos of the shipment, the shipping label and, depending on the circumstances, a confirmation from the courier. If you received a wrong or incomplete product, you will need photos of the outer packaging, the label, the package contents and the shipment weight details.

Under the internal rules, you can return an unused product in new condition within 14 days, but the customer bears the return shipping costs. The standard service warranty on consumer electronics is one year, with two years stated for selected products. For a warranty repair, the customer pays shipping to the service center and Geekbuying then covers the return trip of the repaired product. According to the rules, free repair does not cover batteries, screens and mainboards, which is a fairly important limitation.

Mind the difference between the internal warranty and EU rights

When buying from a seller based outside the European Union, European consumer rights may not apply as straightforwardly as with a local or other European store. The European Commission points out that when shopping on a website outside the EU, the protections do not apply automatically and enforcement can be more difficult. So also pay attention to the specific seller listed on the invoice and the terms stated with the product.

Before sending an expensive or bulky product back, always get the service address and RMA number confirmed in writing. Geekbuying may refuse an unauthorized shipment, a parcel sent to the wrong address or a product modified by the customer. This matters especially for scooters, bikes, power stations and robot vacuums, where return postage can be high.

Geekbuying customer experiences in 2026

Customer experiences are largely positive, though not entirely without complaints. At the time of writing, the Geekbuying profile on Trustpilot had more than 17,000 reviews. Five-star reviews made up 74% and one-star reviews 15%. Customers often praise fast delivery from the EU warehouse and helpful communication, while negative reviews mostly concern delayed shipments, transport damage or slower handling of complicated claims.

On Reddit you will also find cases where a customer received a faulty scooter and waited several days for the first support reply. These are individual experiences, however, and no conclusion about all orders can be drawn from them. For a more expensive product, film the unboxing, keep the original box and test the product as soon as possible after delivery.
